Darkened Hill & Dale (Hardcover) + complimentary PDF (code in book)

A mix of cosmic and folk horror, the scenarios contain unique situations and threats to negotiate. The settings encompass market towns, garden centres, sleepy villages, moorlands, and beyond.

These scenarios are intended to run in 1–3 sessions and with a variety of systems. Suggested frames for player groups and notes on scenario structure are included.

Darkened Hill & Dale comes with a collection of 21 pieces of handout ephemera (3 items per scenario) for players including maps, news articles, folklore book extracts, flyers, and more. 

It’s also accompanied by a collection of location reference photos, a spoiler-free content warning list for GMs to share with players, and a background image for use on VTT platforms.

While these scenarios are set in Britain, most should be adaptable to other locations as they’re all based in fairly rural locales.

This project was funded on Kickstarter in March 2024, and was nominated for Best Cover Art at the 2025 ENNIE Awards.
