Coronavirus Update - Last update: 21st May
This page will be updated regularly if anything changes, so please check back here if you are concerned about an order you have placed.
Update - 21 May:
We are phasing in the reintroduction of Click & Collect in accordance with government guidelines. For the time being you can collect from the shop on Saturdays only, between 1pm and 3pm. The reason for such a narrow window is that we still only have one person working in the shop at any time, in order to minimise the risk of infection, and that person has a lot of work to do. We will monitor how this works and make adjustments as and when we feel necessary.
Update - 3 May:
Since our last update we have caught up and are staying on top of orders, so we are aiming to despatch orders "next working day" after we receive them or sooner. Please note that some deliveries might still be delayed by delivery companies.
What I have realised that we have so far neglected to tell you is that at the moment, as we are operating more like a mail order company than a games shop, there is usually nobody to answer the phones at weekends. You can still email us or send a message by Facebook, we try to answer as quickly as we can.
Update - 21 April:
We have received several large restock deliveries over the last few days, and processing these with only one person working at a time is leading to some short delays in mail order fulfillment. We do apologise if you are affected by this delay but it should be only a day, maybe two, and we expect to be up to date again by the end of tomorrow (Wednesday) at the latest.
Update - 11 April:
There has not been much to report recently. We are still only allowing one person working at any one time, but we are generally keeping up to date with fulfilling mail orders. There will be some short delays mainly after weekends, especially this one being Easter weekend.
Update - 27 March:
No change from yesterday, we are more or less on top of mail orders.
We aim to issue a "New Releases" email today, but it might not be until over the weekend. Don't hold your breath, there won't be much on it! Asmodee UK, who import and distribute the majority of the lines we stock have suspended new releases temporarily, but we do expect one or two (literally) from other sources.
Update - 26 March, morning:
At the end of yesterday we were almost up to date fulfilling mail orders, all that remained were a couple which we were having problems with. If you are affected you should hear from us today.
Update - 25 March, morning:
Government clearly says that mail order businesses can continue, so we are continuing but with a skeleton staff of just one person so that there is no contact between people. Rest assured that this is enough to get all your orders processed and posted out. Over the last couple of days we have been about one day behind with mail orders but we are confident we will be back up to date today. Royal Mail and Parcelforce have both been collecting mail from us as normal.
Update 7.30am - 24 March 2020:
We plan today to work flat-out on mail orders. We have quite a lot of orders to clear, thank you for your custom it is very valuable to us and we will do whatever we can, safely, to keep the mail order service running to a high level, although only one person will be working at any one time.
Orders going outside the UK will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We are unable to deliver to some countries, and the list changes frequently so we will contact customers who are or might be affected before despatch, and will try to get a comprehensive list up here as soon as we can.
Update 9.30pm - 23 March 2020:
The shop will not open again until further notice. But don't despair - that means we can focus even more on sending out your mail orders. Remember that nearly everything is discounted 10% as soon as it hits your shopping cart!
Update 3.30pm - 22 March 2020:
Our mail order service is operating as normal, although delivery companies are warning of some delays. See below for information about a special discount for online purchases!
As of 23rd March 2020 in order to assist in the fight against Corona Virus the shop will open only for one 2 hour period, three days a week (see below). This may change without notice so please check back here or phone before visiting.
Customers visiting the shop during these open periods will be required to wash their hands on entry and to keep a distance from staff and other customers as much as practically possible.
We would like to encourage people to use our mail order service rather than visit, or at least "click & collect" to reduce browsing time. If you have paid for a "click & collect" order you can collect it at the door without even needing to enter if you wish - just phone 020 8346 2327 on arrival. To arrange a collection outside the below opening hours please phone us.
All gaming tables are CLOSED for the foreseeable future.
Tuesday: 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Thursday: 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Saturday: 2.00pm to 4.00pm
In addition to having recently reduced our standard UK delivery rates to just £2, in order to further encourage customers to buy online rather than visit the shop we have implemented a 10% discount off nearly ALL our products (order values £5+)! This offer applies to "click & collect" orders as well as orders for delivery. Pre-order items and collectable card games are excluded from this offer. The discount will be applied in the cart, so add an item to your cart to check the actual price.
Update 9pm - 20 March 2020: A last minute change to tomorrow's opening hours: We will now be opening at mid-day on Saturday 21st March and closing at 5pm. The shop might be closed for short periods during the open time, but these periods should only be several minutes for stock replacement and other housekeeping.
Update - 20 March 2020: We are now cleaning the shop on an hourly basis. We can no longer offer express delivery within the UK as we can't depend on a daily collection.
Update 19 March 2020: We have updated our opening hours to ensure more stringent hygiene measures.
First of all, we are still open! We are enforce a much stricter hygiene regime - and please do not shop in person if you are unwell - but you are welcome to come and shop in store.
We are however stopping any in-store gaming for the foreseeable future, including any scheduled tournaments, from this point forward. We are currently in the process of refunding anyone who has already booked a place. Apologies for the inconvenience.
We would also like to encourage everyone, including people who live locally, to order online. Get your games delivered straight to your door, so you don't have to leave the house! With that in mind, we have temporarily reduced our UK shipping charge for orders to £2 (from £3.50). Orders over £100 remain post-free!
Check in on your friends, neighbours and loved ones and make sure they're okay. What creative ways have you come up with to play board games remotely? Let us know in the comments below!
Please bear in mind that express shipping guarantees have been suspended by our delivery services at this stage - we cannot currently guarantee next day delivery.
International customers: many international services have been suspended or restricted at this stage. Please regularly check the Parcel Force website here for details: https://www.parcelforce.com/service-updates
Stay safe and keep washing your hands everyone!
